The community of the Holy Spirit is marked with the special cult of the Holy Spirit. Giving ourselves over to the patronage of the Third Person in the Holy Trinity, through the grace of faith, we desire to know the truth about the Holy Spirit, preaching and praising Him. By being open to His will and through the gifts, fruits and inspiration that He gives us, we receive the strength everyday to be witnesses of His merciful love. Everyday we ask, the Holy Spirit to form us “in being merciful”, for the ability to lift the hearts of our neighbours to whom He sends us with: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness… (Gal 5,22)
“The spirit of the Lord is on me, for he has anointed me to bring the good news to the afflicted…” (Lk 4,18). As members of the community of the Holy Spirit and walking the path set out by the bible, we desire to be like Jesus who being anointed by the Holy Spirit lived a life of poverty, purity and obedience. We believe that this unification will bring us the fruit of holiness, as well as becoming an effective source by which to be an apostle in the mission of Christian life and love.
The characteristic form of the cross, which is the symbol of the Community of the Holy Spirit, is the essence of our spirituality. It shows, combined in one: the cross of Christ and the cross of each one of us. The image of the dove above this cross, reminds us that our human hardships and sufferings are intertwined with Christs’ sacrifice in the Paschal mystery, which is made possible through the grace of the Holy Spirit. The deeper this unification is, the more fruits that are born into our life: love, joy, peace...- i.e. the 12 fruits (which also represent each of the corners of the cross) that are spoken about in St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians (Gal 5,22). Our desire is that the mercy shown through the members of our community flows right from this source and continues to hold this form.
